Arizona – Dr. Seuss fans were stunned today when lovable characters from his works were detained due to a lack of immigration documentation.

  • The Cat in the Hat Characters Arrested!


  • Thing One and Thing Two, characters from the original “The Cat in the Hat,” were taken into custody, strip searched and water boarded following a routine traffic infraction. They were not allowed legal representation for 24 hours during which time they were questioned rigorously by local police. 

  • Thing 1 and Thing 2 Cause Public Outcry


  • Lawyers eventually provided to the pair said, “This is really where the law falls down. What do you do with a pair of individuals that can’t speak and have no documentable home country of origin?” 

    A local law enforcement spokesman responded, ”These two miscreants need to go. Their repeated references to living in a hat are a mockery of the American way of life. Besides, I think the ‘Cat’ was buried in it.” 

    In an effort to settle the dispute and help Thing One and Thing Two relocate, the descendents of former President A  braham Lincoln have offered his original hat as a new home.
