Detroit – DTE Energy Company's attempts to increase power generation on the St. Mary’s river in Sault St. Marie had a major setback today when GE delivered the backend technology to the installed turbine for their new hydroelectric plant.

Pumping Station vs. Cooling System: What's the Difference?

"You see, GE is such a large company," stated DTE sources, "that the 110-megawatt, 165-million dollar installation we ordered was handled by their small installations group who just sent us a three page form to fill out. There was a check boxed labeled pumping station, which we assumed was a cooling system."
A large water pump was installed instead of the electric power generator and now all the water going through the turbine is pumped up river and thus routes directly back through the turbine.
