• Bat with circle and line through it

Roscoe, Tex.—Protestors gathered at the world’s largest wind farm in central Texas to demonstrate their outrage at the continued slaughter of wildlife in the name of clean energy.

“There’s NOTHING CLEAN about wind power” and “Your hands are BLOODY with GREEN energy” were just two of the signs found among picketers.

  • Protests Rage Over Wind Turbine Bat Hazard

The problem stems from the realization that large wind turbines are responsible for killing large swarms of bats. Birds striking the large blades are common and tragic enough, but the piles of seemingly undamaged bats found every morning have sent the turbine community spinning. It was eventually realized that the shifting air pressure around the massive turbine blades causes bat lungs to catastrophically hemorrhage.

“When I first came upon ‘em, I thought it was a giant pile of rats,” stated Reek Cache, a worker at the Roscoe Wind Complex. “Then I shooed the actual rats away and realized they was feeding on a pile of dead bats.” He went on to say, “Happens so often, nowadays I let the rats and other critters eat ‘em so there’s not much more than bones and fur for me to clean up.”

The callous attitude displayed by workers only seems to fuel the anger of “bat-o-philes.”

  • Bat Genocide, Pure and Simple, Per Bruce Wayne

“This is genocide, pure and simple,” insists playboy billionaire Bruce Wayne, organizer of the event. “If the same thing were happening to little brown people in a far-off country, the United Nations would arrive in force.” Mr. Wayne was then overtaken by emotion, but managed to squeak, “Chiroptera are like little brown furry people.”

The protest continued until dusk when the inhabitants of local bat cave spilled into the air. The gathered crowd erupted in cheers until the colossal swarm raced directly into the massive wind farm. Then tragedy ensued.
