What you are looking at here is a way to save money and improve your office work experience. This is a targeted lamp, lighting about a 10" diameter area on your desk using about 4.2 watts, delivering a nice warm white light of 3000 Kelvin.


Avoid Nasty Fluorescent Lights!


We use these in our offices during the day to augment window ambient light to avoid using the nasty fluorescent overheads.

Oh and the price on these puppies, $9.99 as of 11/1/2010. Two minor downsides. First, you have to go to IKEA to get one, not available via the web site. The other is that the power switch is in the cable, not on the lamp itself making you have to work at it to turn it off and on depending on how you lay out the cord.
