So many electronics have switched to internal batteries that we often forget what it was like to need batteries, but for some gadgets it makes more sense (and savings)to return to the good old battery days with one alteration: make them rechargeable. Initially it may cost a little more, but rechargeable batteries tend to last longer than the charge on electronics like cameras and GPS units. The amount of time needed to charge these handy little batteries is about 20 minutes, roughly the same amount of time it would take to charge the gadgets. When you go out of town you won’t need to pack a bag full of wires, nor will you have to worry about buying a new wire should one get lost. By having a few extra charged batteries handy, you don’t lose time in the field because you can’t find an outlet to recharge your electronics. The best part is that if you keep a set of batteries charged you won’t have to sit around and wait. Just set the used batteries to charging, pop the already charged batteries into the gadget, and get back to what you were doing.
