Un-Plastic Bottle

Taking the lead from its SunChips Division, PepsiCo recently announced plans to produce the first plastic bottle made entirely of switch grass, pine bark, and corn husks. Asked if it is as loud as SunChip’s latest innovation, the first fully compostable potato chip bag, our reporter received only a silent stare from the PepsiCo representative.

Crinkly SunChips Bag

You might recall that the SunChips bag is infamous for the loud “crinkling” sound produced when it is handled. More recent bags are not as crinkly, which leaves one to wonder … Where did the crink go?

PepsiCo’s future plans for their renewable bottles are to use — in addition to current materials — orange and potato peels, oat hulls, and other agricultural byproducts it can get its hands on from its food business.

Power of One

The next logical question: Will future bottles be made from the rest of the pig not used in the production of pork rinds?

This all from the company of the “Power of One.”

In related news, there have been charges of trademark infringement from Sauron Jr., of Middle-Earth infamy, in regards to the phrase “Power of One.” Jr. claims that it is too similar to his “One ring of power” concept. When asked about the charge, the PepsiCo representative’s silent stare turned to a glare.
